My work reacts to the romance and subsequent failures of early virtual reality, which was idealized as a tool to transcend humanity, escape reality, and have impossible experiences. My process for creating virtual spaces involves the conscious documentation of dream environments, which creates a feedback loop where I subconsciously manifest the created environments within my dreams. By presenting the viewer with a headset, I invite the viewer to be a voyeur into my dreams and fantasies, treading a delicate balance of trust and intimacy between the artist and participant.
